History

Lockwood Cemetery is located near the Lockwood Methodist Church on Church Street. Lockwood is a hamlet of Barton, Tioga, New York that was originally named Bingham's Mills.

The nearby Lockwood Methodist Episcopal Church was built in 1854 after services being held in private houses prior to that.^[1] The earliest grave (by date of death) was Paulina Lyons who died 22 Jan 1834.^[2]
