Family Reunion
The annual family reunion and birthday celebration of the Longon [sic] family and birthday of Grandmother Longon [sic], was held last Sunday, June 10, at the farm home of her daughter, Mrs. Dorris Bluejacket. Grandmother Longon [sic] was 81 years old, and Grandfather Longon [sic] is past 81. They have been married 62 years. They have a family of eight children, three boys, and five girls, all living. This old couple are still jolly and ambitious, always trying to do something to help someone. A lovely dinner was served at the noon hour, being provided by well filled baskets of delicious food that it takes to complete a birthday dinner. Present for this occasion were: Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Longon [sic] of Peoria, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Simpson, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Captain and family, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Burnett of Jackson Prairie, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Longon [sic] and daughter, Doretha, of Wyandotte, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Longon [sic] and daughter, Vera, of Collinsville, Okla., Mr. and Mrs. Everett Graham and children, Gerald and Ester Irene of Peoria, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Walker, and son, Teddy Rogers, Mr. and Mrs. James Hobgood and son, Jimmie, all of Tulsa; Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Stoner, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gilmore and daughter, Maxine, all of Peoria district; Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Captain and son, Dallas Jerry, Sam Richardson, Ethel Graham, Ercell Bluejacket, Geraldine Longon [sic], Sue and Virginia Captain, John Simpson, Marshall Longon [sic], Julian Bluejacket, Charley and George Captain, Ora Graham, Arlene Burnett, Jake Simpson, Miss Lenora Longon [sic], Charley Captain, Julian and Leonard Bluejacket, Buck and Dennis Captain, Mr. and Mrs. Walter L. - Emma Bell (Longan) Simpson & her husband, Leander "Lee" Simpson, Emma is the daughter of John & Eliza Longan.
- Florence (Longan) Captain & her husband, Thomas Captain, and family. Florence is the daughter of John & Eliza Longan.
- Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Burnett of Jackson Prairie
- William Robert "Bob" Longan & his wife, Carrie (Wyrick) Longan, of Wyandotte. Bob is the son of John & Eliza Longan. Note that Carrie is a cousin of Ada (Crippen) Longan, who is married to Ben Longan, brother to Bob Longan. Both Carrie and Ada are part of the Wyrick family. - Marshall Longan. He is actually the son of Emma Longan (but not the son of her husband, Lee Simpson), and grandson of John & Eliza Longan, but he was raised by John & Eliza Longan.
- Julian Bluejacket. He is the son of Doris (Longan) & Walter Lane Bluejacket, and is the grandson of John & Eliza Longan.
- Charley Captain and George "Buck" Captain. They are sons of Florence (Longan) Captain and Thomas Captain, and grandsons of John & Eliza Longan.
- Ora Graham. He is the son of Alta (Longan) Graham & Everett Graham, and grandson of John & Eliza Longan.
- Arlene Burnett (likely daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Burnett of Jackson Prairie, above)
