Lugaid Alldathach MacCairpre

Lugaid was born in 0006. [1] Lugaid Ui Eremoin was a Milesian descendant of Érimón (Eremoin)

The Lebor Gabála synchronises his reign with that of the Roman emperor Claudius (AD 41–54). The chronology of Geoffrey Keating's Foras Feasa ar Éirinn dates his reign to 33–13 BC, that of the Annals of the Four Masters to 33–9 BC.[citation needed]

Lugaid Ildathach meaning Lugaid "multicoloured" otherwise known as Lugaid Riab nDerg meaning Lugaid "red-striped" [2] succeeded Conaire Mór as High King of Ireland [3]

He was the child of incestuous relationships - for the story of how he got his name see Lugaid na Riab Derg in the blog pages from The Head of Donn Bó

The imagined descent line by Ralph de Diceto reproduced below reads - Eterscel father of Conaire Mór father of Coibre Find Mor father of Daire Dorn-Mor father of Coibre Crom-chenn father of Lugaid Ildathach father of Mog-Lama father of Conaire - The last Gaelic king of Scotland to descend from Conaire Mór was Alexander III

Scottish annals from English chroniclers A.D. 500 to 1286

Note - that he will also turn up as Lughaidh Sriabh n Dearg, 98th Monarch of Ireland, with a death listed as 8 B.C. in Tara, Meath; listed as no.42 in the thirty-ninth generation since Milesius of Spain, among the kings of ancient Ireland; although in this case, as a son of Fineamhnas and Clothra of Leinster.
