Categories: Magna Carta Project.
The Magna Carta Project is about creating high quality, researched and reviewed trails from Gateway Ancestors to Magna Carta Barons. See Magna Carta Project Trails for more information about trails and details about re-review of completed trails.
Base Camp is where we gather with our team-mates and update our progress.
Please remember, GOAL #1 is to complete one trail for each Gateway Ancestor. Please pick one that is ready to get started before working on additional trails for a favorite Gateway Ancestor!
When we achieve Goal #1, any WikiTree user who can trace their way back to a Gateway Ancestor will have a high quality trail to follow all the way to a Magna Carta Baron!
We are different from other projects so please spend time on the front end and familiarize yourself with some of our resources like our recommended sources, an example of a profile's evolution, and a worksheet that lays out the process for improving our trail.
Another way we are different... The first rule of the Magna Carta project is we do not put our template on a profile until the trail is complete and we are proud of the profile and certain it meets our standards!
Always feel free to ask the project leaders or your teammates any questions via the comments here at Base Camp.
Magna Carta Trails
There are three types of trails - completed, underway, and ready to get started. Only completed trails ever have our template!
If you see a profile in one of the "ready for review" trails that needs a bit of help, you can add a maintenance category to it using "needs" parameter with the Magna Carta Project sticker. If you have a little spare time, check out the profiles in Magna Carta Project Maintenance Categories and see if you can get them off the list. A couple of the categories there are appropriate to profiles already in a completed trail: Magna Carta Project Needs Re-review and Magna Carta Project Needs Category Attention.
Magna Carta Trails Completed
Magna Carta Trails Underway
QUALITY is vastly more important than QUANTITY! NEVER add the Magna Carta Trail Badge until you're proud of the profile!
That brings up the second rule... The second rule of the Magna Carta project is we do not put our template on a profile until the trail is complete and we are proud of the profile and certain it meets our standards!

Always be gracious with profile managers and other genealogists. Let them know you're working on the Magna Carta Project. Remember we are contributing to their work!
Always remember the third rule of the Magna Carta project is we do not put our template on a profile until the trail is complete and we are proud of the profile and certain it meets our standards!
