Situated at the center of town next to the Congregational Church, the Church Cemetery is surrounded by a fence bordering Main Street.
Over one hundred and fifty years of Hopkinton history is contained within the confines of this small Church Cemetery. Laid out in 1726 following the construction of the first Hopkinton church on the commons, the cemetery is the resting place of many prominent Hopkinton family members as well as approximately eighteen soldiers and sailors of the French and Indian War and the American Revolution. The earliest recorded date is 1744.
The Massachusetts Historical Commission refers to this cemetery in MACRIS as HPK.805 Church Cemetery

Thanks so much for catching the duplicate category: Main Street and Hopkinton Church. I've been working on this project in Barnstable and Bristol counties, and haven't gotten back to Middlesex. I see you are working your way eastward!
I'll have EditBot merge the categories, keeping Main Street as the name, since that what the town of Hopkinton has on their website. Not too sure how long EditBot takes, but I'll keep checking.
