Due to inconclusive paper trails, there are questions about which men descend from Walter McCool (abt.1712-abt.1796) (aka Walter McCoole). In this research project, we will try to identify living male McCool descendants of Walter. We will encourage several of them to take Y-DNA tests and confirm or refute existing theories of relationship.

Thanks to Walter's will, we know he had two sons, Samuel and John. We currently believe those sons were:

1. Samuel McCool (abt.1743-1815)
2. John McCool (abt.1745-bef.1794)
