1. William Brown and Celia Newby m. 10 Dec 1823. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Newby-818. Found on FamilySearch L439-2PB 1860 Census, Hancock Co. Indiana. Not our family. Father James Brown was a Quaker

2. William Brown (s. of Joseph) and Nancy C. Cole 12 Oct 1824. Haven’t been able to find anything on her yet. Based on the estimated birth date of Jesse , 21 Nov 1831, this marriage is a little too early unless there were children born before Jesse. There is no indication of earlier children. This will require further research.

3. William Brown and Mary Hutcheson m. 20 Nov 1830. Haven't been able to find anything on her yet. Another researcher thought a family member had said the name was Hutcheson but had no documentation. So this is a possibility that will require further research.

4. William Brown and Milley Cortner m. 17 Feb 1831. FamilySearch 932B-VYX William died 14 Jan 1889 Guilford Co, Amelia "Millie" died 8 May 1874 Guilford Co. Not our family. Find a Grave, database and images (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/127934581/amelia-brown: accessed 19 August 2023), memorial page for Amelia “Milly” Cortner Brown (5 Aug 1810–8 May 1874), Find a Grave Memorial ID 127934581, citing Lows Lutheran Church Cemetery, Whitsett, Guilford County, North Carolina, USA; Maintained by Greg Matthews (contributor 47449255).

5. William Brown and Elizabeth Bevill m. 20 Jul 1831. Not our family. This family connection is shown on many online family trees. This William Brown died in 1846 in Tennessee. I found documentation that Elizabeth Beville survived until 1880 and was buried in Texas County, Missouri. Proving that this is not our William Brown therefore Elizabeth Beville is not connected to our Brown family.

Four documents establish that Jesse Brown is not the son of William R Brown and Elizabeth Beville.

George W. Brown, a leading citizen of Texas County, MO., was born in Guilford County, N.C., in April, 1834, his parents being William R. and Elizabeth (Bevel) Brown, who were born in Guilford County, N.C., December 26, 1808 and June 2, 1811, respectively, and were there reared and married, the date of the latter event being July 27, 1831. In the fall of 1834 they went to Wilson County, Tenn., where the father died July 8, 1846, when comparatively a young man.. . . In the fall of 1857 George W. Brown emigrated with his mother from Tennessee to Texas County, MO., and here the mother, who had married a Mr. Michael Shaver, in April, 1859, after her husband's death, spent the remainder of her days, dying January 14, 1880. . . Five children blessed their union: Mary C., wife of George Putnam; Eliza A., wife of W. T. Allman (she died in Benton County, Ark.); Francis (died in Wilson County, Tenn.), George W. and William J. . . George W. was the eldest son, and after his father's death took care of and provided for the remaining members of the family, being engaged in farming.
