Welcome to this One Name Study. If you are interested in joining, feel free to contact Katie Martindale. This is Family Line #2 of the Martindales. The patriarch of this Martindale line begins with Edward Martindale. He was born in 1690 in Franklin County, Massachusetts. Family historians believe that John Martindale was Edward's father, although there is no source yet to be found. We do know that Edward married Ruth Smead in 1721 in Deerfield, Massachusetts. They had 9 children that would help solidify this Martindale line.

Deerfield, Massachusetts has some dark history attached to it. This particular line of Martindales married into several families that were victims of the Deerfield Massacre of 1704. In particular, the Nims family which lost almost every member, save for two. _________________________________________________________________________________________
