- William Gibbs McAdoo Jr. (1863-1941) is Notable for serving as the Secretary of the Treasury of the United States from 1913 to 1918 during President Woodrow Wilson's administration.
- Perry Wadsworth McAdow (1838-1918) is Notable as an early pioneer of the American West, prospector, mercantilist, and real estate developer who settled in Montana in 1861 and partcipated in the creation first of the Territory of Montana in 1864 and its admission in 1889 as the 41st state.
- Clara Lorette (Coltrin) McAdow (1838-1896), wife of Perry, is Notable in her own right as an independent business woman, gold mine owner/operator, suffragette and socialite.
- The Most Reverend Henry Robert McAdoo (1916-1998) is Notable for serving as the Archbishop of Dublin and Primate of Ireland for the Church of Ireland from 1977 until his retirement in 1985.
- The Reverend Samuel McAdow (1760-1844) is Notable as a pioneer Minister, participant in the 1800 Red River Revivals of the Second Great Awakening, and as one of the three founders of the breakaway Cumberland Presbyterian Church in 1810, a denomination still thriving today with over one million members.
- Robert Allen McAdoo Jr. aka "Bob McAdoo" is a former professional basketball player who played 14 seasons in the NBA where he was named the NBA Most Valuable Player in 1975 and won two NBA championships with the Los Angeles Lakers.
