Purpose

The purpose of the McQuade Name Study is to serve as a repository of McQuade name information and resources for collaboration between McQuade profiles and researchers. The hope is that other researchers like you will join our study to help make it a valuable reference point for people studying lines that cross or intersect.

Task List

1. Add McQuade males born in the U.S. before 1880

2. Add McQuade females born in the U.S. before 1850

3. Look for McQuades that have missing sources or basic information such as: birth date, place of birth, death date, place of death, and do research to help fill in the blanks.

One possible meaning of McQuade is to associate it with MacUaid with "mac" meaning "son of" in both Scottish and Irish surnames, and "Uaid" meaning "Wat" or "Walter".
