Heritage Exchange
McWhorter Plantation in Greene County, Georgia appears to be of average size. At this time we do not have enough data to confirm who other than Robert L McWhorter is the Plantation owner... The Slave Narrative of William McWhorter he makes reference to Joe McWhorter as his family's owner in Greene County, GA. With that being said I will list both groups of African-American Heritage ancestors here based on research available at the time of this creation.
Ellison-1589 01:08, 12 October 2021 (UTC) Joe was located in Oglethorpe County, GA which is a neighboring county to Greene County, however the 1850 and 1860 U.S. Slave Schedules do not match up with the with the African-American Heritage ancestors that have been identified. Robert's 1850 and 1860 Slave Schedules match up with what was read in the Slave Narrative.
- NOTE: All birth dates are estimates based on what was available at the time of research.
