History/Timeline
- Menifee County, Kentucky was established on 29 May 1869 from portions of Bath, Montgomery, Morgan, Powell, and Wolfe counties and was named after Congressman Richard H Menifee. The county seat is Frenchburg. [1]
Government Offices
- The first courthouse was built in 1928 to 1929 by Henry N Foster and A. B. Hamilton.
- The new courthouse was built in 2001 to 2003 by CMW Inc. of Lexington and Venture Contracting Inc. [1]
