Source-a-Thon 2018

This is a general team for the 2018 Source-A-Thon. The Source-A-Thon will be held Friday, 28 September 8AM EST to Monday, 1 October 8AM EST. Monday is included for those who cannot participate during the weekend. We are working on anything and everything, we just want to mop up those profiles needing cleaning!

For information about joining or creating a team, check out this page. (Hint - for the Source-a-Thon, you need to say you want to join Team Merry Moppers when you post an answer in this thread to join. Once registered, you will then be given the Source-a-Thon badge and assigned a “race number.” We'll use that number to draw the random winners for the many door prizes.

How to Participate

1. Choose a profile. You can choose any from Category: Unsourced Profiles.
2. Add a good source. For more information on sources, see our Sources page.
3. Once a valid source is placed on the profile, remove the {{Unsourced}} template or [[Category:Unsourced Profiles]] categorization, if there are any.
4. Click the "Challenge Tracker" button at the very top of the page and choose the "Source-a-Thon" option.
5. Move on to the next profile! Here's a handy video to help you out if you need a visual

Team leadership during the Source-a-Thon

Free-space pages are for team coordination, e.g. to list potential sources in their research area and coordinate who will be searching for what, as well as where Aleš will include tables of unsourced profiles specific to your team (if possible). Teams also have "chat" threads in the G2G where your team members can encourage and cheer each other on, and ask questions. Here's ours:

Team members may be able to help each other claim prizes. The way we're doing these drawings, every participant has a good chance to win, but you have to be online when your number is drawn. Team members might want to watch for each other's numbers.

During our periodic video chats during the Source-a-Thon we will be talking about how the teams are doing. There will be bragging rights for the most productive teams!
