The goal of this project is to research and discover my father's family, their roots and origins. My father Simon Petrus Gouws born into Afrikaandom, left the Lowveld in his early 20s and married a Scott: Helen Caldwell Macarthy Struthers. "Hy het heeltemal verengels". This project is me catching up lost time and finding my kin.
Right now this project just has one member, me. I am Hendrik Gouws.
Here are some of the tasks that I think need to be done. I'll be working on them, and could use your help.
- build a family tree back to my great grand parents and down to my children's generation
- Collect, share and document photos, ensuring the facts of the folk
- if this platform allows for it: Document important stories and happenings
