History
Montrepose Cemetery was established in 1850 with the appointment of trustees and the purchase of 20 acres of land. Jarvis McEntee's brother was on the original board. The land was surveyed by C. S. Quillard who also was it's first superintendent. His son, C. V. Quillard took over after his father.
In 1874, there was a Decoration Day Procession where flowers were laid at the graves of soldiers from the Civil War. New York soldiers comprised a large part of the Union Army. [1] Decoration Day Procession
