There were explosions in 1806, about which little is know. The Welsh Coal Mines site says that more than 50 were killed in the two disasters, 36 people were killed in the first one, with another 15 presumably killed in the consequent one. There do not appear to be any lists of victims so they will probably have to identified from their burial records.

Summary

  • Date: 1806
  • Location: Mostyn Park Colliery, Mostyn, Flintshire, Wales
  • Victims: 50+ casualties
  • Cause: Explosions
