mtDNA Haplogroup T2a1b1a1b matches

• These are the matches of a distant cousin - Maise Watson - whose mtDNA kit I manage. She took the test in 2019 at my request, because her tree - at that time - went back to our common ancestor. Once her results were in I worked on the trees of her numerous matches, entering them on WikiTree. My goal was to try and find an immigrating ancestor so I could hopefully tie some of her matches together.
• Then came December 2023, when I accidentally found an 1877 Will for the brother of my ancestor and learnt that this brother was the ancestor of Maise’s maternal line! Which means I am no longer interested in this Haplogroup.
• I’m putting the research here in the hopes that someone else will take it over or use it to continue the search for the Immigrating ancestors. Hopefully this is of some benefit. Note - I have not added the names of the DNA donors (a couple of them are on WikiTree) if anyone wishes to know which donors match which tree please contact me. Good luck - Janice
  • FYI the first ancestor of a match I add to WikiTree is usually born about 1900 - the mtDNA donor is a descendant of hers. (I don’t put living people on WikiTree).
  • Because some matches are "born England" I was working on the assumption that those listed as Native American actually had a white/English mother or grandmother or great grandmother (always up the mother's side). I was informed that the Haplogroup T2a1b is not associated with Native Americans.
  • The majority of the DNA matches EKA are in Virginia and Pennsylvania.

• Match with descendant of EKA Phoebe Mills b 1801 Lydd, Kent, England
• Match with descendant of EKA Barbara Mannings, b 1755 in Kent England; md Henry Nash; dtr Thomas and Barbara Mannings. (not on WT)
• Match with descendant of EKA Rachel Unknown Crafton Shawnee Indian b 1764 (received this - "the information put out on Rachel being Native American was a mistake from a spouse of a relative, mixing Rachel with another ancestress, but once put out, there was no way to recapture it….")

• Match with descendant of EKA Martha Johnson bc1802 in Georgia.
• Match with descendant of EKA Mary Molly unknown Adkins bc 1730 - I'm pretty sure I've proven she was NOT a daughter of Edwin Thacker. Middlesex, Virginia Some trees say she was the daughter of Chief Hokolesqua Cornstalk a Shawnee Indian but no source.

• Match with descendant of EKA Margaret unknown Whitson bc1715 probably Stafford, Virginia.
• Match with descendant of EKA Margaret Jones bc1741 in Dunsmore, Shenadoah, Virginia
• Match with descendant of EKA Hannah unknown Keesee b 1742 in Pittsylvania, Virginia.
• Match with descendant of EKA Anna unknown Upton bc 1798 Virginia then went to Tennessee and ended up in Missouri
• Match with 2 descendants of EKA Judith Scarborough bc1735 in Halifax, Virginia
• Match with potential!!! with descendant of EKA Mary Fleming bc 1715 in Virginia. NOTE: possible mother is Mary Beverly b 1678 in Middlesex, Virginia. AND in this mtDNA donor’s tree is Judith Scarborough!!! (She is an EKA of another mtDNA match). Judith’s grandson (Wm Henderson) married into this mtDNA upline. Therefore Judith Scarborough was related to this Mary Fleming.
