Biography

Murchad mac Indrechtach was the progenitor of Clann Murchadha, who along with Clann Connmaigh were chiefs in the two half baronies of Ballymoe in the counties of Galway and Roscommon. Clanconow, alias Clanconway, is described by O'Donovan as west of the river, a branch of the O Finaghtys. Hennessy gives Clann Murchadha on the east of the river Suck. [1] An early genealogy:
