In the name of God Amen
Being this day in my sound mind and memory but only mortal feel it my duty to make the following my last will and testament.
First I desire that my body be decently entered{sic]
Secondly that all my funeral expense be paid
Thirdly that all my just debts be paid
Fourthly I now give and bequeath to my beloved wife Anna H. Floyd all my real and personal estate during her lifetime or widowhood to decently rase [sic] educate and suport [sic] the minor heirs of her body and herself, and at her death to comply with the following request
First I give and bequeath to my son William I. Floyed [sic] the tract of land where he now lives being one hunared [sic] and fifty acres with one horse, saddle, bridle, cow & calf, bed and farming utensils which he has recei’d
I also give and bequeath to my son Russell H. Floyd the tract of land where he now lives containing one hunared [sic] and sixty nine acres with one horse, saddle, bridle, bed cow & calf and farming tools which he has recei’d
I also give to my son J. D. F. Floyd the tract of land where he now lives being 150 acres with one horse saddle bridle cow and calf, bed and farming tools which he has received.
I also give to my daughter Sarah Ann Elizabeth now the wife of John Cruz one horse saddle and bridle cow & calf bed and burow [sic] and money to buy her a negro girl so ??? as my debts is paid the first item that is collected to her benefit
I now give to my son John N Floyd one hunared [sic] and fifty acres of land where George W. McKinney now lives including one half of the farm, one horse saddle and bridle which he has received, and to be made equal in other property to the other heirs.
I now give and bequeath to my son James W. B. Floyd one hunared [sic] and fifty acres of land where George W. McKinney now lives including the other half of the farm and that he also be made equal with the former heirs and if the above named two tracts of land should be lost the s’d John N. Floyd and J. W. B. Floyd be made equal to those who have gotten land in money if the estate be able.
I now give and bequeath to my daughter Martha Ann Floyd one negro girl named Rose and horse saddle & bridle cow & calf bed and furniture.
I now give and bequeath to my son Luther G. Floyd one part of my home farm Beginning at B. Farmers line running with my land a direct course to William J. Floyds line all on the left hand or ???? side and to be made equal with the above heirs in other property which they have recei’d
I now give and bequeath to my son Nathaniel A. Floyd the ballance [sic] of my home farm including my bilding [sic] spring orchard on a wood all the land above the above named line and also that he be made equal with the above named heirs in property they have received
I now give and bequeath to my friend H. McElroy for his services one hundred acres of the above named McKinney survey to be lade [sic] off in proper form in one corner of side so as to leave the remaining two hunared [sic] acres in good form the same two hundred acres to be sold and the money to be apropriated [sic] to the benefit of the heirs.
I now appoint my beloved wife Anna H. Floyd and H. McElroy my executors to transact all the buisness [sic] belonging to my heirs and estate according to my will and desire
I now request the Court to grand letters of Administration without security for this performance. I yet being of sound mind & memory acknowledge this as my last will and testament, signed & sealed in presence of these witnesses this 11th day of July in the year of our lord Eighteen hunared [sic] forty four. At a County Court holden for Union County at the Court house in Morganfield on the 17th day of February 1845. This last will and testament of Nathaniel J. Floyd Deceased was produced in Court by the Executrix and Executor and was in open court proven to be such by the oath of Wiley W. Jenkins one of the subscribing witnesses thereto and Sarah E. Floyd the other subscribing witness came into Court and proved the said Will to be the last Will and testament of Nathaniel J. Floyd and thereupon the said will was ordered to be recorded which was done accordingly
