A Naval Flight Officer (NFO) is a commissioned officer in the United States Navy or United States Marine Corps who specializes in airborne weapons and sensor systems. The NFO designation was established in 1966. It was formed from the old naval aviation observer (NAO) designation. The enlisted personnel were removed from NAO duties but continued to serve as enlisted aircrew roles, while NAO officers received the newly NFO designation.

The counterpart to the NFO in the United States Air Force is the Combat Systems Officer (CSO), encompassing the previous roles of navigator, weapon systems officer (Bombardier) and electronic warfare officer.
