This page has been accessed 2,617 times.

This is a One Name Study to collect together in one place everything about one surname and the variants of that name. The hope is that other researchers like you will join our study to help make it a valuable reference point for people studying lines that cross or intersect. Please contact the project leader, add categories to your profiles, add your questions to the bulletin board, add details of your name research, etc.

There are a group of Researchers working on Nelsons from PA, VA, KY and MO. We have slowed down on our research but are trying to post our findings and comments on this page: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:NELSON_GROUP_REPOSITORY. My line of Nelsons is probably from Pennsylvania then from Scott Co KY and moved to Missouri in 1824.

Is this the Sweden project? My ancester immigration from Stockholm. There is was a church there that helped with immigrant costs to United States ports. Nelson ancestor ended up in Illinois. I think the church was presprrian (sp?) ? If that helps?

Our family tradition traces our ancestry back to a supposed twin daughter of Horatio Nelson and emma hamilton. Horatia is the acknowledged daughter but there is some evidence of a twin named Emma Hamilton as well. Andrew st clair nelson comes to australia and he is directly from this line. May have been called Andrew Gibson initially but allowed to use the Nelson surname as a descendant.
