As of 11 May 2019 this site stated: "Also known as Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Cowles-Highland Cemetery, Highland-Cowles Memorial Cemetery, New Highland Cemetery". The site continues with, "Even though the Old Burying Ground is abutting the Highland Cemetery it is considered by the Ipswich cemetery department to be a separate cemetery. Also considered separate is the Highland Annex Cemetery, which is one street over."
In actuality, the Ipswich Cemetery / Parks Department considers Highland Cemetery, New Highland Cemetery, Cowles Memorial Cemetery and the Old North Cemetery to be separate facilities. It should be noted that the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Highland Cemetery, New Highland Cemetery and the Old North Cemetery are contiguous. The Cowles Memorial, Highland, New Highland, and the Cemetery / Parks Department all have the same street address. This is 29 Town Farm Road in Ipswich. Old North Cemetery is our oldest cemetery in town. It is located at 63 High Street.
