Hi everyone! NNS project has about 100 members, and even though we don't have nearly that number as profile managers on this page, we are way over WikiTree's recommended max number of 6 managers.

So, we now have a Google Group. You'll need a Google account to join. Some people create a Google e-mail (gmail) for this, so that their WikiTree e-mail is not the same as the Google Group. That's fine. Whatever e-mail you use, please include your WikiTree ID in your request to join (should be a link on this page https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/wikitree-new-netherland-settlers - let me know if it's not).

Thanks!

P.S. This is intended to be the last message to project members using the comments section of this page. As y'all are added to the Google Group, I'll delete you as PM.

Hi everyone! I just added a new member's name to the page where members are listed with their area(s) of interest/project activity. Lots of people who haven't entered any info yet. Please drop by the Members' page and add something about yourself if you haven't already.

Cheers, Liz

There is no google group. I didn't add one as I kind of left the communication aspect set up the way you had it.
Is there a project Google Group?

Sharon West does excellent research on primary sources, I think she will be a valuable contributor to the New Netherlands Project.... I put her on my trusted list for her ancestors that she and I share in common, and was not aware of the additional step. So the answer is yes, we need to get her added to the project

oops - I just responded to Sharon West about her request to be added to the trusted list for this page (that when folks join the NNS project, they're made a PM for the page, and only project members are on the trusted list). But... has she joined the project & needs a badge awarded? She's on the trusted list but does not appear to be a member yet. Or is this page no longer member-only (for being on the trusted list & therefore able to edit it)?

I am working on Richard and Penelope Stout descendants and wish to make a correction regarding one of their children. Currently, it has one child named twice: 1. as Alice (Stout) Skelton and 2. Deliverance Stout. They are the same person. In their father's will she is listed as Alice. Secondly, at her death her last name was Throckmorton. In the WikiTree she is listed as Alice (Stout) Skelton. Mr. Skeleton was her first husband then she married Mr. Throckmorton. Her father's will is on p. 305-306 in John E Stilwell's book. Thank you

I cannot see creating a new project. I agree with Chet Snow and Paul Lee's views. New Netherlands saw a wide source of immigrants that were quickly adsorbed into the community. Let's not further subdivide.

However, I suggest that a category be established to track these folk.

I agree that New Sweden is part of the NNP because it was short lived, it was taken over by the Dutch,
