Welcome to the New Zealand Project Topics Page

Are you fascinated by a particular aspect of New Zealand history and drawn to make or improve profiles for a particular type of person? Suffragettes? Early residents of the street you live in? Missionaries? The people involved in the Musket Wars of the early 18th Century? One of the topics might be the place for you - or perhaps you would like to start your own topic?

The Project Co-ordinators for Topics are Campbell Braddock

Topics are ways to bring together and curate New Zealand profiles under a common theme.

For the National Topics we want to create flagship profiles that will be a lasting legacy for future generations

The Topics

Most of the topics cover themes that are widespread throughout New Zealand, or across multiple regions or cities and towns. - see below.

The New Zealand Project has a multitude of sub-projects or areas of interest

Team Members

New Zealand Project revitalisation will ask current members which topic they would like to work on.

Shirley, you will need to join the NZ Project through G2G and/or contact the leaders, Amelia Utting or Nic Donnelly.

I see you found the sign in on G2G. I hope Nic will reply to you promptly. In the meantime, please keep making and improving profiles especially Māori ones. That genealogy can be so hard to find in public sources. Please let me know if there is anything I can help you with on understanding and working in WikiTree. I'm more than happy to help.

Shirley -- what Fiona said.

The most recent sign-up thread I can find is this one -- Are you interested in joining the New Zealand Project?

I have no idea where best to post this, but it's time to pull out the big guns and start nominating EnZed "indigenous" folk for next week's EPOW supports.

I will be in that boots and all being 50% Maori.

That particular feature is over and done -- for 2021, anyway. But keep working on such profiles, because we never know when one will "fit" an up-and-coming "Theme of the Week".

Given there are so few managed profiles, would it work to create a Managed Profiles and Notables group under the NZ topics team?
