Friday, July 19, at 8 AM (EDT) to Monday, July 22, at 8 AM (EDT)

Goal: To add as many new (sourced) profiles to already existing profiles on Wikitree.com as possible.

Thon Information: Connect-a-Thon

Instructions

1. Find a profile in WikiTree with relations that are not yet added to WikiTree.
2. Click the "Edit" tab and then any of the links [add spouse], [add children], [add sibling], [add father], [add mother] under the "Edit family" header.
3. Create the new profile with good information and a minimum of one reliable/original source. The source can not be a link to someone's unsourced family tree (Geni, Ancestry, etc.).

Any profiles added to Wikitree during the Connect-A-Thon will count as a point to you and your team. If you use "Add -> New person" it will not count as a point, but profiles added to said profile will count.

Tips and Tricks

• Check to see if you have any unconnected profiles on your watchlist as that could be a good place to start: Unconnected Profiles
• Pick profiles to work on from the Unsourced Lists or the needs profiles categories listed above
• If you have the WikiTree web browser extension you can click the missing connections button when viewing your connections to find profiles with parents or spouses missing.
• You can select a starting profile (or multiple profiles) in advance and keep the list in an Excel spreadsheet, Word document (or Google Sheets or Google Docs), or from the WikiTree Nav Home Page you can use the Scratch Pad (or the to-do list if the profiles appear on your watch list). No matter which option you choose, you can also research ahead of time, save sources and biography information to make adding the profiles easier and quicker!
