"North" or "Old Yard" Cemetery

North Cemetery, also known as Old Yard Cemetery and Old North Cemetery, is an early cemetery in the town of Peru, Bennington County, Vermont. It is north of Peru village, near the first site of the Peru church.

The one-acre site for the cemetery was deeded to the town by David Stratton and Richard Stratton on 13 April 1803.[1]

Old maps show the cemetery on the road to Hapgood Pond. However, as of 2016, the Hapgood Pond Road bypasses the cemetery. The road to the cemetery now forks off from Hapgood Pond Road (on the left) just north of Farnum Brook.

The other principal cemetery in Peru is Peru Village Cemetery, established several decades later.
