History

Many of the stones denote Irish homeland. Music heard here is dueling chainsaws nearby. Many of the old cemeteries must monitor their trees and attempt to prevent damage from fallen trees. There is no parking area and this is a hike through cementery. It took strong men and good friends to bury the pioneers. Noted one gravestone as early as 1824. This is east of town. One of 19 historic /natural cemeteries in Nevada County (one district). The church deeded the property to the Nevada cemetery district.
