The Northcote war memorial was built as a bus shelter at the intersection of Lake and Onewa Roads, Northcote, Auckland; designed "as an arch and ornamental gate erected at the entrance to the grounds of the Northcote Infant School" [1] Soldiers and nurses who fell in the First and Second World Wars are recorded there. Community funded, the memorial was completed towards the end of 1925. [2] The memorial was officially unveiled on the 13th February 1926. [3]
