History

Nutt Cemetery (also called the Ross-Etheridge Cemetery) was named for the landowner, Stephen M. Nutt, but there are no known Nutts buried here. The cemetery was primarily used by the Dukes, Rosses, and Etheridges, who all intermarried. Mr. Nutt purchased the land from the descendants of Adam Duke, who is buried here with some of his family members.

Location

The cemetery has been abandoned and is not easily accessible, but it is located near Indian Creek where the old Clayton road used to run between Snap and Clayton.
