Template 1: No for now
Hi <Name>,
Thank you for expressing an interest to undertake OT2.
As you are aware, OT2 requires a new level of researching ability and profile management skills. It requires the ability to develop well written, complex and interesting biographies, which brings the person in the Profile to life. It also requires being able to write manual citations of a high standard, as the records available when going back in time become more difficult to find, interpret and contextualise.
Therefore as part of taking people into the OT2 program, a review is done to ensure the skills learned through OT1 have been maintained and built on since graduation. This assessment is an important entry gateway for OT2. It is necessary to ensure a Trailer is ready for the undertaking and also helps us engage our Trailblazer volunteers in the most effective way possible. It also ensures there is a high chance of each Trailer having a valuable and rewarding OT2 experience that they can take forward in their genealogy endeavors.
I have reviewed some of your current work and at this point in time, we do not think you are ready to undertake OT2. We would like you to focus on consolidating both your research and Profile management skills, including citation standards. When you have done some further work on Profiles where death is no later than 1837, please feel free to contact us with a further new 2-3 Profiles that you’re pleased with for review. It must be work you have completed since graduating from OT1, and be recent at the time you submit them.
We have a selection of OT2 Preparation files for Trailers to practice with - let me know you’d like to work on any and I will allocate them to you. You can find the list here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:England%2C_Orphan_Trail_2_Preparation_Profiles
Good luck with your WikiTree work and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you in the future should you wish to express further interest to proceed.
Kind regards

Template 2: Request work for review
Hi <Name>,
It's great you have expressed an interest to undertake OT2.
So I am able to assess your readiness for OT2 could you please send me 2-3 Profiles of your own recent work for review? They should be Profiles where death occurred no later than 1837. It must be work you have completed since graduating from OT1, and be recent. I will need to see that you have maintained, and ideally built on, the skills and standards you learned through your OT1 participation and graduation.
This assessment is an important entry gateway for OT2. It is necessary to ensure a Trailer is ready for the undertaking and also helps us engage our Trailblazer volunteers in the most effective way possible.
I look forward to hearing from you and receiving the ID or URL of the Profiles that you consider your best work so I can take a look. Thank you!
Kind regards

Template 4: Don’t be discouraged
Hi <Name>,
Thank you very much for sending us a selection of your Profiles for review so we could check your readiness to undertake OT2.
As you are aware, OT2 requires a new level of researching ability and Profile management skills as the records available when going back in time become more difficult to find, interpret and contextualise, for inclusion in a Profile. It is quite a challenge in comparison to OT1!
Please don't be discouraged, but at this point in time, we do not think you are ready to undertake OT2 and would like you to focus on consolidating both your research and Profile management skills, including citation standards, for a bit longer. When you have done some further work on Profiles where death is no later than 1837, please feel free to contact us and send a further 2-3 completed Profiles for review. As before, it must be work you have completed since graduating from OT1, and be recent at the time you submit them.

Template 6: OT1 Grad not recommended for OT2 but would like to do it at some point
Hi <Name>,
Congratulations on graduating OT1! Your Trailblazer has let me know you are interested in going on to OT2 but that you are not quite ready and need some time to consolidate your skills. Working with an England Project team is a great way to do this. In addition, you could read the OT2 Overview and check out the Resources 1500-1699. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:OT2_-_An_overview_of_Part_2 We also have a selection of OT2 Preparation Profiles to work on. Please feel free to take any of them on but do let me know if you decide to so I can remove them from the list. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:England%2C_Orphan_Trail_2_Preparation_Profiles When you think you’re ready, please let me know and we can take it from there. In the meantime, enjoy your WikiTree’ing! Kind regards

Template 8: You’re on the wait list
Hi <Name>,
Thanks for getting back to me. That’s great that you are ready to proceed as soon as possible. I have placed you on the wait list and a Trailblazer will be assigned when one is available. We do have a wait time at the moment, it’s about 3-4 weeks - but please feel free to check in with me at any time to find out what the timing is looking like. Rest assured that a Trailblazer will be in contact when you are next up! In the meantime, you may like to refresh your memory with the OT1 and OT2 pages as many of them have been updated recently. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:England%2C_Orphan_Trail_Trailers_Index https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:OT2_-_An_overview_of_Part_2
