Olympics- Team Iran

Background

Iran's 1st appearance at the Olympics was at the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. Iran didn't send athletes again until 1948, and has been at every Summer Games since then, except for in 1980 and 1984. Iran made its' first appearance at the Winter Olympics in 1956, and didn't compete again until 1964-1976, and has attended every Winter Games since 1998. Iran has won a total of 76 medals, including 24 gold medals. They have been most dominant in weightlifting, wrestling, and taekwondo.^[1][2]

This is an ongoing project to ensure that all Olympians who represented Iran are on Wikitree.
