A duplicate Garter Principal King of Arms category has been merged.
None of the suggested renaming has yet been done.
The Royal Knights and Stranger Knights may already be categorised under the Knights Companion.

• Founder Knights of the Garter (landing level) - present as ":Category:Knights_of_the_Garter" Needs renaming - Done
• Knights and Ladies Companion of the Garter - present as "Category:Knights_Companion_of_the_Garter" although women have been admitted as Companions since 1987. Needs renaming to "Knights and Ladies Companion of the Garter"
  • By monarch (landing levels) (Margaret Thatcher goes here under the Elizabeth II subcategory)
• Ladies of the Garter (landing level) Generally Royal spouses and Ladies of the Court. Most were up to the reign of Henry VII, a few in modern times. ^[1] Category present but need renaming from ":Category:Ladies_Companion_of_the_Garter", as Lady Companions (LG) are those non-Royals who have been invested since 1987. Queen Alexandra, consort of Edward VII, goes in this category. - Done
• Military Knights of the Garter (landing level) - present Category:Military_Knights_of_Windsor

  • Gentleman or Lady Usher of the Black Rod (landing level) - present as Category:Black_Rod will need to rename to "Usher of the Black Rod" This is the same Black Rod who has the position in the House of Lords. Done

• Royal Knight Companions of the Garter (Landing level) British Royalty that do not already qualify by being monarch or Prince of Wales. They do not count in the 24 member total. Male and Female Royals are both styled Knights and have the post-nominals KG. Princess Anne and Camilla, Queen Consort go in this category as KG. ^[2]
• Stranger Knight Companions of the Garter (Landing level) Foreign Royalty, male and female are styled Knights and have the post-nominals KG . They do not count in the 24 member total (Leopold II, King of the Belgians goes in this category).
