  • Oliver Stegen: I‘ve been active on WikiTree since Dec 2017. My paternal grandmother’s LNAB is Ostermann, and through the Ortsfamilienbücher (German family books) of the Museumsverein Uelzen, I was able to extend the Ostermann ancestors way back into the 1700s, and some branches even earlier. Then in 2023, while researching Jewish victims of the Nazi terror regime in Germany, I was deeply touched to come across Else Ostermann, who was murdered in Auschwitz in 1944, and who is a namesake of my grandma! From there, I branched out, and one thing led to another, resulting in the beginning of this Ostermann Name Study. I‘m tickled that the earliest document mentioning the family name Ostermann was written in 1389 in my birth town of Lüneburg (!). So, I‘m excited to see where else this journey will lead …
  • Siegfried Keim: I joined WikiTree in April 2023. My great-great-grandmother was born as Ostermann. The main region for me is Nordrhein-Westfalen.
  • Jeff Jahn: I joined WikiTree in June 2023. My 3rd Great Grandfather was a Ostermann. He was born in Velgen, Uelzen, Lower Saxony, Germany.
