CHIPPING NORTON

At a Meeting of the Gentlemen and Yeomen
resident in the neighbourhood of Chipping Norton, held,
by adjournment, at the White Hart Inn, in Chipping Norton,
the 21st October, 1812;

After reading the Resolutions entered into by the Gentle-
men in the neighbourhood of Stow on the Wold, as published
in the Oxford Papers,

Resolved unanimously, That we highly approve of those Reso-
lutions, and that we will co-operate with the Committee there
appointed by every means in our power.

Resolved unanimously, That A. T. RAWLINSON, Esq. and
G. F. STRATTON, Esq. be requested to communicate with
them for that purpose, and to endeavour, in conjunction with
them, to promote the use of the LEGAL WINCHESTER
MEASURE, at the markets in the counties of WORCESTER
and WARWICK.

Resolved unanimously, That while we rejoice in the general
adoption of the legal Measure in this and Banbury Markets,
yet as some few persons still persevere in a clandestine opposi-
tion to it, we will no longer delay enforcing it by all those
means which the laws have placed in our hands.
