Welcome to the Oxfordshire Monthly Challenge!
These challenges are for improving Oxfordshire profiles and we will focus on those that are currently flagged as Unsourced and associated with a particular town or area each month
Steps to take to complete a profile
- Add at least one full source
- Check the birth, marriage and death location fields are correctly formatted – a number have problems such as misspelt towns, multiple commas, missing country or have addresses (which should be moved to the biography)
- If the profile is linked to another through marriage please try and find a source for that marriage
- Check the biography and clean it up or add to it where you can
- Remove span anchors and replace with proper source formats
- Check the profile for suggestions and resolve those where you can
- If you are unable to find a source, add a “Research Notes” section detailing where you have searched so others can then know where else to check
- If your research suggests that there are significant problems such as conflated profiles (i.e. the profile includes information that represents 2 or more different people), wrong family members etc please add the category "Category:England Project Serious Data Problems" so that the Tangled Families team can have a look at it
- Finally if you have added sources please make sure you remove the unsourced category

This month the profiles in the table are those that have been flagged with the maintenance category "Oxfordshire, needs death record". Please clean up the profiles as best you can and once you have found a source for the death, remember to remove the maintenance category.

This month there are two different challenges.
1) Missing Country: 19th century people born in Oxfordshire: these profiles do not have England or England, United Kingdom on the birth location. These are quick to fix, but please also review the profile and sort out any other issues you can - no sources, gedcom junk, span anchors etc etc.
2) Oxfordshire only: 19th century people who were born in Oxfordshire but the actual town/village is not recorded. I have picked profiles where they are alive for at least one census so hopefully we should be able to pin down the right location. Please add a source for the location and do any other cleanup you can on the profiles.
