History
The Paint Creek Regular Missionary Baptist Church was founded in 1833 when the founders met at the home of Isaac Lewis near Paint Creek, on the outskirts of Gallipolis, Ohio. In its early years, the church met in a large barn near Spruce Street in Gallipolis. Around 1870, they bought the land for the present location at 833 Third Ave. in Gallipolis.[1][2] The new church building there was dedicated on 7 Jun 1874.[3]
