The goal of this project is to assemble a few fragments related to the history of the Patapsco Female Institute, Ellicott's Mills, Maryland. The town is currently known as Ellicott City, Howard, Maryland. The Institute was in operation from 1837 into the early 1890s.

Right now this project just has one member, me. I am J Stewart.

Here are some of the tasks that I think need to be done. I'll be working on them, and could use your help.

  • Connect (Extremely Informally) with the Friends of the Patapsco Female Institute (somewhat active on FaceBook (September 2022).

Description

  • Almira Hart Lincoln Phelps was the most prominent leader of the Institute. Minimal biography for her (and links to more sources..) here: Hart-12246

Minimalist List Of Students (who have WikiTree Profiles)

(In case the reader hadn't noticed,' this profile creator has Absolutely NO intention of listing ALL PFI students here!!)
