Pension File from the U.S. National Archives (I skipped over #14 it is a piece of paper with the number 2 on it)
On the 14 September 1775 he joined Captain Minor’s Company in Livingston’s Regiment. He marched from Belisle to Quebec where he was taken prisoner on the 31 Dec 1775 at the Battle of Quebec. He was released 2 months later and rejoined the American army at Beauport. He was present at the death of General Montgomery and in his records he has left a graphic description of the event. He was furloughed on 24 April 1776 and discharged in June.
On the 27 Jul 1832 while living in Swanton, Vermont he applied for a Pension for his service in the war.
