About the Project

The Phipps Name Study project serves as a collaborative platform to collect information on the Phipps name. The hope is that other researchers like you will join the study to help make it a valuable reference point for other genealogists who are researching or have an interest in the Phipps name.

As a One Name Study, this project is not limited to persons who are related biologically. Individual studies can be used to branch out the research into specific methods and areas of interest, such as geographically (England Phipps), by time period (18th Century Phipps), or by topic (Phipps DNA, Phipps Occupations,Phipps Statistics). These studies may also include a number of family branches which have no immediate link with each other. Some researchers may even be motivated to go beyond the profile identification and research stage to compile fully sourced, single-family histories of some of the families they discover through this name study project.

I would like to be a part of the PHIPPS study group. My paternal grandmother, Malinda Jane Phipps (1869-1914) lived in Knox County Kentucky and was married to Ulysses Byron Campbell (1864-1932). They had a number of children (Maude-James-George-Nellie-Boyd-Clara and, of course, my father, Walter Coy Campbell). I find the Phipps family line to be an elusive line of people and have hit a brick wall trying to verify Malinda Phipps' parents. I believe they are Tal Phipps and Celia Wilburn but I cannot document this to my satisfaction. Therefore, I would like to join this group in the event that I can get some information on my Phipps line.

Hi, I'm interested in joining the Phipps Name Study. I have quite a few Phipps ancestors, including my great-grandfather who is a brick wall. I'm hoping to learn more about this branch of the family and him in particular.

Thank you!
