- When I first began my Family History research, the discovery that these two had passed away at such young ages affected me deeply. John aged 33 years and Esther aged 39 years in 1924. Esther was my grandfather's eldest sister.

- I went to visit my paternal grandmother one day. She had this photograph on the kitchen table. I asked about the photo. She said, I'm about to burn it, do you want it ? You can guess the rest. David Lambie was her father.
