History

Pine Grove Cemetery opened in about 1843 on land that was donated to Pine Grove Congregational Church in 1839 by James and Sarah Worts. The first church was built in about 1841. A brick church was built in about 1867, but it was destroyed by fire in 1902.

The cemetery is now inactive and is owned and maintained by City of Vaughan. The remaining stones were built into a stone cairn in 1968. The cairn is tucked behind the top of the hill where the cemetery is located. The cemetery does not have dedicated parking or a driveway.
