Shaar Zedek was the original name of the Pioneer Jewish Cemetery or also know as The Shaar Zedek Pioneer Jewish Cemetery.

It was founded in 1856, the first burial was in 1857 and the last was in 1891. It is a small area enclosed by fence on private property at 317 2nd Street, Grass Valley, CA It is only accessed by appointment.

It was rededicated as a historical site on September 13, 1970.
