Jeremiah Powell came to Leon Co, FL about 1830. He started buying land and by the time of his death it is said he owned 2700 acres.[1] Jeremiah had 2 plantations. He lived on his home plantation, called the Upper Plantation, and kept most of his slaves at his lower plantation, called Pleasant Grove Plantation.[2] Jeremiah Powell died in Leon Co, FL in 1839.
