Mary (Olive) Herzog
Mindy, in answer to your question this morning, all four of my paternal great grandparents immigrated separately from the Azores in the 1860s-1870s to the San Luis Obispo area in California. I have found the parishes for three of them in Sao Jorge (Oliveira), Flores (Freitas), and Pico (Silveira), and have been able to identify many DNA matches with them. Jose Correa Machado continues to be my problem. He was quite shy about appearing in records of any sort and those that he did give different ages and birthplaces in each one. I have found birth years from 1838 to 1853 and birthplaces as Sao Jorge, Flores, and Pico. I have many unknown DNA matches which I am sure are his line and hope some day to be able to find his people. Mary Olive(ira) Herzog
