Braga

Braga is currently the 7th largest municipality in Portugal by population and the third largest urban centre (behind Lisbon and Porto). [1] Braga was most likely founded in 296 BCE by the Carthaginians. It is often referred to as Bracara Augusta, named by the Roman's who occupied the city in 20 BC. A few notable landmarks in Braga include: Bom Jesus do Monte, Sé de Braga and the Igreja de Santa Cruz. The region's economy is sustained by the manufacture of firearms, jewelry, cutlery, furniture, electronics, textiles, and hats. [2]
