Pre-Independence Settlers in the Red River District

The following individuals (and usually their families) are known to have entered. resided in, or been born in the area along both sides of the Red River before 1 March 1836 (when the Republic of Texas was established), though they didn't always stay there. At the earliest period, they often believed they were in Miller County, Arkansas, so records may appear in both Miller County and in Red River County.

This alphabetical list is a work-in-progress and everyone is invited to add more names (with links).
