Precious Blood Church in Holyoke, Massachusetts burned in a tragic fire Thursday, May 27, 1875 during a celebration of the Feast of Corpus Christi. Over 90 men, women and children died, many of whom are buried at Precious Blood Cemetery. A plaque memorializing the dead from the tragedy was erected in the center of the cemetery.
