Were the ECA Prices Descendants of Sizemore?

Several individuals claimed Hiram Sizemore as their ancestor on their ECA's, but their stated lineages raise questions. The claimants included:

1. Thomas R. Price (ECA 23363),
2. William C. Price (ECA 4130),
3. Mary (Price) Davis (ECA 23556), (This one?)
4. Kathie (Price) Mabe (ECA 4131),
5. Wesley Price (ECA 26451),
6. Daniel Price (ECA 23424)

These claimants indicated in their ECAS that:

• Hiram Sizemore was the son of "Old Ned Sizemore." Wife not named;
• Hiram had a daughter named Jennie Sizemore who married Canada Richardson
• Jennie and Canada had a daughter Nancy Richardson who married John Cox,
• Nancy Richardson and John Cox had a daughter Cynthia/Synthia who married Thomas Price.

Wikitree's profile for Cynthia Cox who married Thomas Price identifies Cynthia's parents as Nancy Richardson and Joshua Cox.

We seek independent evidence (beyond the claims of the ECAs) for these relationships.

The information above conflicts with what is known about Canada Richardson; namely:

• Canada Richardson was married to Jane Cox, daughter of Captain John Cox.^[1]
• Canada and Jane had several children, but no daughter Nancy.
• Canada Richardson died intestate and has a large estate file. The petition for settlement names his heirs but did not name a Nancy.^[2]

• Canada Richardson did appear to have a sister (not daughter) named Nancy (Richardson) who married Joshua Cox and they had a daughter Nancy Cynthia Cox who married Thomas Price (per WikiTree). This Joshua Cox was the son of John Cox and his wife Margaret or Mary (Davis), making Joshua the brother of the above Jane (Cox) Richardson.

In addition:

• Hiram Sizemore was NOT the son of "Old Ned" Sizemore. He was the son of Owen Sizemore who was the son of George Sizemore of Ashe. This is proven by multiple ECA's from descendants of each of this Owen's identified children [add ECA #s]:
  • Hiram Sizemore,
  • Anderson Sizemore,
  • Charlotte Lydia (Sizemore) Waggoner
  • Mary "Polly" (Sizemore) Hubbard.
