Princess Anne County

History

Named after Princess Anne, who became Queen regnant of England, Scotland and Ireland in 1702, and formed from the complete split of Lower Norfolk County in 1691.

In 1963, Princess Anne was absorbed into the independent city of Virginia Beach.
