Compilation of Beebe Genealogists

by Randolph R. Beebe, © 2022.

This essay is a collection of the names and works of individuals who have studied the North American Beebe family and have made a significant contribution to the pedigree and knowledge of that family.

Authors of comprehensive Beebe Genealogies offered in printed, published books; where the word comprehensive here carries the meaning of genealogies that broadly attempt to address the entire scope of descendants of John Beebe the original North American Beebe immigrant.

1904, 1929: Clarence Beebe

  • Beebe, Clarence, Monograph of the Descent of the Family of Beebe; from the earliest known immigrant--John, of Broughton, England, 1650, compiled and edited by Clarence Beebe, 150 Nassau Street, New York,1904; Public Domain.
  • 1929: Unpublished update to 1904 Monograph Text. As of Nov 2022, there are no Known copies of this document, however it is abundantly clear from the 1991 work of Clifford Beebe that he had obtained a copy of this work, and used it as a significant foundation for his 1991 publication
  • 1921 John Beebe of Broughton : a record of genealogical descent, by Clarence Beebe, John Beebe pre - north america family study.

1991: Clifford Beebe

  • Beebe, Clifford, Genealogy of the Family of Beebe From the Earliest Known Immigrant John Beebe of Broughton, England, Vol I, Higginson Book Co., 10 Colonial Road, Salem MA 01970. 1991.
  • Beebe, Joanne Fisher; Genealogy of the Family of Beebe, Volume II; "The Second Emigration; Edited and published by Clifford Beebe, Higginson Book Co., 10 Colonial Road, Salem MA 01970. 1992.

Authors of comprehensive Beebe Genealogies offered in on-line publications or Web Sites

2003-05-04: Nancy Ann Norman; Status uncertain. On line Graves Genealogy has been taken down, presumed deceased.

2011: Dr. Alan D. Henry. Deceased.

2022: Randy Beebe (Presently Active on Wikitree)

  • Randolph Beebe: Aggregation, investigation, and expansion of the collected work of any and all of the Beebe genealogists cited in this essay onto the Wikitree Platform. This work appears as individual web pages for members of the Beebe identity of this expansion. The wikitree web page for John Beebe II (1600-1650), patriarch of the North American Beebe Family is an excellent starting point to explore the genealogical history of the family.

2022 Yvonne Beebe (Presently active on Ancestry.com)

  • Yvonne Beebe Aggregation and expansion of existing Beebe pedigree onto Ancestry.com; extensive and thoughtful collection of Ancestry.com source information associated with each profile.

Other Beebe Genealogists who have studied and collected a comprehensive collection of source evidence for the Beebe family:

John A del Blodgett (1920-1991) of Freedonia, New York. The files of John A. Blodgett are frequently cited as a reference in the Beebe Genealogy manuscript by Dr. Alan Henry, and the trace evidence recorded in Henry's book makes it abundantly clear that the Blodgett's collection of Beebe genealogical source material was extensive. Unfortunately, as of November 2022, no evidence of an extant copy of Blodgett's Beebe files has surfaced, no known copy of the work is available on line, and it appears Blodgett's Beebe collection may be lost. However, a tribute to John A. del Blodgett by the Chautauqua County, NY Genealogical Society suggests his work may have been donated to this institution.

Don Beebe Canada; Work cited extensively by Dr. Alan Henry. No known copy of work available on line.

Beebe Genealogists focused on specific branches of the family descent:

1925: William Beebe; The Beebe Family; Line of Henry Beebe of Grandville, New York. Jan 1 1806

1930: Louise (Beebe) Wilder: Lucius Beebe of Wakefield and Sylenda Morris Beebe, His Wife

1951:

1958:

  • Mitchell Hunt; The Mysterious Beebe Families of Beebe, Vermont-Quebec. Print copies available at rare book sellers. Genealogy of early Beebe generations, at fourth generation becomes focused on Seba Beebe , and Zaccheus Beebe who migrated to Beebe Plain, Canada.

1981: John Dorrance Morrell John Dorrance Morrell Genealogical Research Files. https://archives.nypl.org/lhg/21997 https://www.newyorkfamilyhistory.org/nygb-at-nypl
